Vigilance Registers Case Against Kanugo, Three Patwaris And Four Others For Selling Govt Acquired Land

State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption, today booked a Kanugo, three revenue Patwaris and four members of a family for fraudulently selling land acquired by the state government.Disclosing this an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said the Bureau had received a complaint from the vigilance officer of the Industries and Commerce department in this regard and found that Amrik Singh, his mother Jasveer Kaur, sisters Pritpal Kaur and Jagdish Kaur of village Mundian Kalan, Ludhiana have sold a government land measuring 1100 sq feet in a fraudulent way in connivance with employees of Revenue department namely Paramjit Singh Kanugo and Patwaris Jaskarn Singh, Gurpreet Singh and Anil Kumar.It was found during investigation that Punjab Government had acquired a land near Mundian Kalan where Industry and Commerce department has to establish an industrial focal point. He said although Amrik Singh and his family had already received a claim from government in 1995 against the acquired land but they sold the same land fraudulently to other people in 2015.The Vigilance Bureau has registered a case against the accused in this regard under sections 409, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B of IPC and section 13 (1) (d), 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act at VB Police Station Ludhiana and investigation was under progress.
