Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik Friday said that clubbing this legitimated struggle off Kashmiris with terrorism is totally ‘unjustified and unacceptable’.In a statement issued to KNS, Malik said, “Kashmiris are fighting for a just and democratic cause. Our struggle is a democratic struggle which in all purposes is in accordance with international laws, UN charter and resolutions and acknowledged by all international covenants and forums. Therefore, clubbing this legitimated struggle with terrorism is totally unjustified and unacceptable.”While condemning the fresh wave of ‘arbitrary crackdowns on resistance camp, resistance activists and youth in general by the occupational authorities and agencies’, Malik said that every little space on peaceful political activities has been choked by India and the state government under the garb of maintaining peace but international community safeguarding its economic interests with India is maintaining criminal silence and hence legitimizing this ‘state sponsored terrorism’.On the US decision of declaring Syed Salah-ud-din as a “global terrorist”, Malik said that “US and the rest of international community is well aware that for the past 70 years, the people of J&K are engaged in a long and peaceful struggle for achieving their basic human and political right— the right to freedom and right to self-determination.”He said that “this right is guaranteed by the United Nations charter and resolutions, but ruthlessly resisted and suppressed by the Indian State through use of extreme force.”

Malik said that, “Instead of condemning the ongoing oppression on the people of Jammu Kashmir and acknowledging the legitimacy of Kashmiri struggle’s for freedom, the US government has strangely chosen to club our freedom struggle with terrorism, which is most unfortunate.”Meanwhile, on United Resistance Leadership call, JKLF leaders and activists staged a peaceful protest at Budshah Chowk Lal Chowk.Led by JKLF Zonal president, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, JKLF leaders Javed Zargar, Zahoor Ahmad Butt, Muhammad Yasin Butt, Muhammad Sideeq Shah, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri and others gathered at Madeena Chowk and marched towards Budshah Chowk where they staged a peaceful sit-in against declaring decision declaring Syed Salahuddin as a “global terrorist” and fresh wave of arrests in Kashmir.Holding placards in their hands and raising slogans in favor of freedom, martyrs and unity and against spree of arrests and clubbing Kashmiri freedom struggle with terrorism, the participants of the protest sit-in were addressed by leaders Noor Muhammad Kalwal and Siraj ud Din Mir etc.According to the spokesman, the protest sit-in later ended peacefully.Meanwhile, JKLF chairman expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the sad demise of mother of a great JKLF martyr, Pervaiz Ahmad Dar Imandar of Burzalla.JKLF chairman along with JKLF leaders Javed Ahmad Zargar, Altaf Khan and Showkat Ahmad Dar and other delegation comprising of senior leadership Advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt, Ghulam Rasool Dar, Mushtaq Ajmal and Muhammad Sideeq Shah visited the bereaved family and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.Leaders while praying for the heavenly abode of the deceased mother also prayed for the patience of the bereaved family.
