Deputy Commissioner,  Tariq Ahmad Zargar today held a meeting with civil society members at Surnkote  and  discussed various developmental issues.The participants representing every section of the society  welcomed the new Deputy Commissioner and assured their full cooperation in taking district ahead  on developmental front.Seeking a comprehensive development road map, the participants brought several core issues to   the notice of Deputy  Commissioner, ranging from maintaining law  and order, eradication of drug menace in the region, improvement in road infrastructure and   service delivery,   enhancing staff and  infrastructure facilities  in sub  District  hospital Surnkote  and others primary  health institutions & sub primary health institutions,  improvement in water and power supply and others related developmental issues.The civil society members, during a hours  long interaction & discussion, commended the steps already initiated by the government and implemented by district administration to promote work culture  in government offices and improving functioning of health institutions.

The Deputy Commissioner while underlining the role of civil society in ensuring a proactive and participatory   administration sought their cooperation in dealing with vital issues of public importance. He assured that all the important issues with special focus on maintaining accountable and transparent administration  at all  levels, will get   focus  attention  of district administration.He said district administration will also launch an anti encroachment drive and sought active cooperation and support of civil society in this regard.Earlier Deputy commissioner held a meeting to review the progress of different schemes being implemented in the region.During the meeting the officers from different departments apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the status of various on going developmental works and various bottlenecks in the way of   completion of the development projects.While reviewing the performance of departments in executing taken up key projects, Mr.Tariq Zargar passed necessary instructions to the concerned departments to complete the projects  within stipulated time frame.
