District Development Commissioner Shopian, Mohammad Aijaz, today visited the Mega Fruit Mandi Aglar Shopian.He was accompanied by Senior Officers from Horticulture Planning and Marketing, Flood Control and Irrigation Department, SICOP, Revenue and Industries Department and the consultant designer of the Fruit Mandi.District Development Commissioner took stock of the various works being executed on the mega project. During the detailed discussion with the officers, DDC directed the concerned to expedite the pace of work and make sure that the project should get completed within the stipulated period of time. It was also stated that the protection works around the fruit Mandi will be taken on priority basis.He also gave instructions to R&B officials to complete the macadamization of the fruit Mandi so that the old fruit Mandi will be shifted without any delay.It is pertinent to mention here that out of the Rs 40 crores projected estimate on phase first of the mega project, an amount Rs.2.46 Crore has been already spent so far on the said project.
