The Punjab Rural Development & Panchayat Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa today explicitly issued directions to all the officers of the Rural Development to use all the grants without any discrimination. While chairing the maiden meeting of the rural development department Mr. Bajwa said that all grants issued for development works must be utilized judiciously and adequately reflected.Rural Development & Panchayat Minister said that senior officers of the department should personally make surprise visits to check ongoing development works in the villages. He warned the officers for using sub standard material on development works and said that wastage of public money won’t be tolerated. He also directed the senior officers to supervise the development works and should take strong action against those not following the set standards of work. ‘Development works and targets must be achieved on time, added Tript Bajwa.  

Mr. Tript Bajwa asked the officers to ensure proper attendance in offices and redress the public grievances fairly. He further said that no files should be kept pending in offices, if any officer or employee found sitting on any file intentionally strict action would be taken. Mr. Bajwa took a serious note of the issue of the pending Utilisation Certificates which had not been submitted despite completion of work. He asked all concerned to submit all the pending UCs within a month otherwise action would be initiated against the erring. He also ordered to take action against the panchayat secretaries who have not submitted UCs in-spite of repeated reminders. Rural Development & Panchayat Minister also issued directions to increase revenue by leasing out panchayat common land in a transparent manner. He said that this process must be completed by 31st July, 2017. Prominent amongst others present in the meeting included Mr. Siban. C Director –cum-Joint Development Commissioner, Mrs Raminder Butter Joint Director, ADC (Development) of all Districts, Mr. Joginder Kumar, Mr. Sarabjit Walia and Mr. Pushpiner Grewal (All Deputy Directors), Mr. Surinderpal Singh Angara, Mr. Vinod Kumar Gagat and Harinder Singh Sran (All divisional Deputy Directors)  and DDPOs.
