Expressing concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Kashmir valley All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) today urged the Government of India to start dialogue process with the different stakeholders in the state in order to find a solution to the Kashmir imbroglio. In a statement to KNS, APSCC Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina said that dialogue alone can solve the Kashmir issue and denial to carry out talks would not lead to any solution. He said people living in Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh divisions have peculiar problems and same can be addressed only when parleys are held with the concerned stakeholders.“There are many small groups in the state and Government of India should start talking to the representatives of these small groups. This will build up the whole process and in the near future other stakeholders can be involved in the dialogue process. It does be-hove New Delhi to say that no talks would be carried out in Kashmir,” said Raina.

The APSCC Chairman said that if Government of India does not want to talk to separatists this time around then they should talk to people with whom they are comfortable in talking to at this point of time. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should follow the footsteps of BJP stalwart Atal Bihari Vajpayee while handling Kashmir and the situation emerging in the valley.“Narendra Modi has a decisive mandate and he should behave like a statesman and take concrete measures to solve Kashmir issue. New Delhi should understand that situation in Kashmir cannot be normalized without taking separatists on board. As such there is no harm to talking to people belonging to the different regions of the state even if they oppose your policies,” said Raina. The APSCC chairman said that police and other security agencies should desist from taking punitive action against the students while they carry out any protest demonstration. He said that hearts can be won by love and compassion and not by force and compulsion. (KNS)
