Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today called upon the people of  Punjab to be ready to fight the second “war of Independence” from the clutches of congress led UPA Government that ruined the country.Today addressing the rally after laying the foundation stone of Sewerage and Water treatment plant at Fatehgarh Sahib worth Rs. 53.98 crore, Mr. Badal said that Punjabis have always played the role of torch bearer whenever Nation faced any kind of crisis and again we have to set the stage for the formation of NDA government under the decisive leadership of Mr. Narendra Modi to save the India.Terming the tenure of UPA Government as the darkest period in the century Mr. Badal said that   earlier the British rule in India was described as the “misrule” but the decade long regime of congress led UPA Government has ashamed the  British misgovernance. He said that “UPA Government would be remembered only for inflation, corruption and multi crore scams in the history of India”.Calling upon the cadre of Sharomani Akali Dal to shun the differences to defeat the anti Punjab forces in ensuing polls, Mr. Badal said that Mr Narendra Modi led NDA Government would start a “New development inning” in Punjab as there would be no discrimination with Punjab after that.  

Talking about the false claims made by the PPCC leaders about the fiscal health of Punjab Government, Mr. Badal said that Union Government collects money from the states in lieu of taxes but allocates it with utter discrimination.Addressing the media persons, Deputy Chief Minister said that SAD-BJP combine would win all 13 seats in Punjab on the development plank. He said that “people are now wise enough to understand the gimmicks of congress which they were playing since 60 years”.  Replying to a question about the IT boom in the state, Deputy Chief Minister said that the process to make the Punjab as next IT hub of the country has already began as giant IT group Infosys has started  construction for its biggest campus in India. He asserted that IT sector alone would provide employment to 3 lakh youth in next three years.

The Deputy Chief Minister has also initiated the development works worth Rs. 93 crore in Fatehgarh Sahib district, which included the laying of foundation stone for Sewerage project at Sirhind with the cost of Rs. 53.98 crore, besides inaugurating the  newly contructed bus stand at Bassi Pathana with Rs. 4 crore. Foundation stone for sewerage project at Bassi Pathana costing Rs. 36.52 crore was also laid by the Deputy Chief Minister.Later on addressing the rally at Khanna, Mr. Badal said to facilitate the traders Punjab Government has initiated “Rahat Yojna” aiming to end the Inspector Raj in the state. He said that Punjab Government has set the target to make the Punjab as the first paperless administrative state in next 9 months as all kind of approvals and sanctions would be provided online.Besides that development works worth Rs. 131 crore has also been initiated by the Deputy Chief Minister at Khanna which would provide 100 % water supply and sewerage facilities.Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included cabinet Minister Mr. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon , CPS N.K.Sharma. Ex MLA Ranjit Singh Talwandi, MLA Justice (Rtd) Nirmal Singh, SAD-BJP candidate from Fatehgarh Sahib parliamentary constituency  Mr. Kulwant Singh.
