Presiding over quarterly meeting of H.P. University Court here at Shimla today, Governor Himachal Pradesh Acharya Devvrat said the youth represent the source of tremendous inherent energy which should be used for development and for the cause of nation building. He asked physical education department in particular to ensure that energy of youth was channelized in sports activities in the ground especially hostel students.He said achievements of H.P. University  in the field of sports was not satisfactory and needed much focus and attention of academicians for disciplined students and all round growth.He said that the research work should be completed within stipulated time and not exceed beyond a period. It will give focus approach and result oriented framework to students. The time frame work should be strictly followed.He said the research work of scholars should not be confined to the shelves in the University but come to the field for benefit of the society.He said the teachers were doing one of most important work of the society by transforming innocent child to model citizens of the nation. Students learn from experiences and should be given knowledge through practical rather than theory.  He asked University administration especially hostel warden to regularly check cleanliness in the campus especially toilets and bathrooms in hostel.Vice Chancellor H.P. University Prof. ADN Bajpai gave details of the achievements of the University on this occasion.MLA Smt. Asha Kumari, Pro Vice Chancellor Shri Rajender Singh Chauhan, Dean of Studies Ms. Girja Sharma, Honorary Advisor to Governor Dr. Shashikant Sharma, Members HPU Court, Shri Shriniwas Joshi and Shri Pratap Singh were also present on the occasion.
