Fire and Emergency Services Jammu and Kashmir today country observed the Fire Service Day to remember and pay homage to martyrs of the Services who have laid their  lives while saving life and property of people.The main function was held at Fire & Emergency Services Headquarter Gandhi Nagar Jammu where Director Fire and Emergency Services RK Haq laid wreath on memorial to pay tribute to gallant firemen who were martyred in the line of duty.While speaking on the occasion, RK Hak emphasized the importance of Fire Service Day and Fire Service Week which is being observed from April 14 to April 20, 2017.RK Hak, elaborating on this year's slogan ‘Firemen- your partner for saving Life and property’ stressed upon officers and jawans of the department to play their role in Nation's development by launching massive awareness programmes in Schools, Colleges, Industries to inculcate fire preventive and safety measures so that the losses during any fire emergency can be minimized.

The Director appreciated the role of Fire Fighters of department who are doing excellent job by minimizing the losses during fire accidents and stressed on use of sophisticated and hi-tech appliances and equipments which are introduced every year in the Services.The Fire Service Day is observed to pay homage to all those gallant personnel who lost their lives while saving others.Joint Director Fire and Emergency Services Jammu Range R T Dubey, Deputy Director Fire & Emergency Services Command Jammu C K Peshin, Medical Officer Fire & Emergency Services Dr. Farooq Ahmad and Accounts Officer T L Raina were also present on the occasion and laid wreath on the memorial.Similar function was organized at Fire and emergency Services Hqrs Batmaloo Srinagar, where Mohammad Akbar Dar Deputy Director paid homage to Martyrs. Besides all Command Officers also organized and attend the programmes on the occasions in their respective Commands.
