Srinagar , 11 Apr 2017

Incarcerated chairman of JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik has been yet again remanded for five more days by 1st additional sessions judge Srinagar today.Chairman JKLF was arrested by police on 18th March 2016 and sent to central jail on a 12 days judicial remand. On 29th march he was again presented before 2nd additional session’s judge who again remanded him to judicial custody until 11th April 2017. Today JKLF chief was presented before 1st additional sessions judge who remanded him for five more days and ordered him to be sent to Srinagar central jail again.JKLF chairman has been implicated in a concerted case under 13 unlawful activity act dated 17/2016 and it is ironic that courts instead of stopping these false and fabricated tactics of police is complying with them and prolonging the incarceration of JKLF chairman.

JKLF has strongly condemned this police highhandedness and termed their tactics of playing with law as undermining justice, judiciary and basic human rights. Jails and incarceration centers are like second home to resistance leaders like Yasin Malik but these kind of oppressive tactics have made the lives of thousands of young and old in Kashmir as hell and pushed generations to the wall and hence are promoting worst violence, added JKLF.Besides JKLF chairman dozens of JKLF members are also languishing in different jails and police stations which include JKLF zonal organizer Bashir Kashmiri, JKLF district president Ganderbal Bashir Ahmad Rather (Boya), Mushtaq Ahmad Mir, Molvi Reyaz Ahmad, Faisal Aslam, Zahoor Ahmad Khan, Irfan Ahmad Khan, Ashiq Hussain, Jan Muhammad Paray, Tanveer Ahmad Ilahi, Raies Ahamd and Mushtaq Ahmad from Ganderbal are worth to mention.
