Traders in North Kashmir’s Pattan town Wednesday blocked Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road and staged a massive protest against the rising incidents of burglary in the town. At least five shops were looted by burglars on Tuesday night in the town, sparking protest from traders community.Eyewitnesses told CNS that a large number of traders hit to roads after the burglary incident. “Mobile and electronic shops were looted by unknown burglars this time. The incidents of burglary are on rise while police have failed to trap the thieves. Our properties are insecure,” protesting traders said. A police party rushed to spot to pacify the protesting traders who dispersed peacefully after Station House Officer Pattan Mir Saleem assured them of swift action. “An FSL team from Baramulla visited the spot to collect the finger prints and other evidences. We have registered an FIR vide number 52/2017 and investigation has been set into motion,” SHO Pattan told CNS.
