Sakshi Gulati a " Punjabi Kudi" entered the glamour industry by becoming one of the top models working with the best of designers from across the globe. After becoming a Femina Miss Femina finalist.... She bagged her debut hindi movie "CONTRACT" with ace Director Ram Gopal Verma ..she followed it up with a cameo in the " Film Emotional Atyachar" . Her debut Telugu movie with Ram Gopal Verma " Katha Screenplay Appalraju" followed soon after.. .and now.. Two of her films got released back to back.. her debut Punjabi film " Dushman " presented by Mahesh Bhatt on 3rd March 2017 and on 10th March 2017 ( Sakshi's birthday) Telugu Film " Chitragandha ". .. Sakshi is known for doing all lead roles and giving powerful performances.. Which has always been appreciated by audience and critic's alike.
Q.1 - Welcome to 5 Dariya News, Can you tell about your family
Ans- I call myself a true Indian.. As I have lived all over the country thanks to my father being in the Indian Army. My mom is a homemaker n my brother is an Army Officer too. Coming from a defence background I have been exposed to lots of different people and different cultures which has made me a very confident and adaptable person.
Q.2 U have been in the industry for a few years yet u have done very limited movies . Why it happened?
Ans- I have always believed in quality over quantity. So I was very clear from the beginning that I will only do films.. Where I have something to contribute to the story n have a scope to perform . I just didn't want to be a show piece. And also since I'm a self made girl.. Who is not from this industry it's not easy to get good worthwhile projects.
Q.3 You had done two films with RGV, one in Telugu n another in Hindi. How you define his way of working?
Ans -Ramu ji is a very clear n precise filmmaker n a brilliant technician. As a newbie I couldn't have asked for a better platform to start. It was like going through a film school where as a beginner ramuji gave me all the space to give my own input n ideas too. I will always be indebted to him for introducing me to films n trusting me to pull off such interesting characters.
Q.4 - How you got " Dushman " and how you feel working in Mahesh Bhatt Production?
Ans - It was an honour for me to do my Punjabi debut with a Mahesh Bhatt production. The DOP of the film recommended me and the director of the film ( noted film writer shagufta rafique) thought that I was a perfect fit as in the film I had to play her real life persona. Playing such a complex character in front of the person who you are playing, was quite a challenge. But I loved every minute of it. Mahesh Bhatt sir was a very encouraging mentor . as a new artist, I think I have been really lucky to work with such amazing legends like Ram Gopal Verma and Mahesh Bhatt.
Q.5 - Can you tell your next films , you are working ?
Ans - After the success of 2 back to back films in Punjabi And Telugu.... I have been getting lots of offers.. And some interesting projects are getting lined up.. Very soon the official announcements from the production houses will start coming. So watch out. Lots of amazing films coming up and I am really excited. Can't wait to share it all with you.
