Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday accused Congress of avoiding issues of public importance and adopting dictatorial attitude in Punjab vidhan sabha. Addressing the media at Punjab Bhawan, senior AAP leader and Leader of opposition in vidhan sabha Adv. H.S. Phoolka along with MLAs Kanwar Sandhu, Prof. Baljinder Kaur, Jagdev Singh Kamalu and Meet Hayer said that the ruling party is trying to avoid the questions of opposition party so has cancelled the ‘vote of thanks’ after Hon’ble Governor’s address till next session.Phoolka said that it is the right and duty of opposition to raise the issues of people of the state in vidhan sabha but Captain is demolishing the basic structure of democracy and showing his dictatorial tendencies. He said it will be the first time in the history that the opposition will not be allowed to ask the question during session but AAP will not let it happen.AAP leader said that the government has decided to postpone the question hour till next session pretending to have no question from opposition but it is wrong as AAP will submit the short notice questions to the speaker soon. He said that the attitude of governemnt shows that Captain Amrinder is running away from showing the plans and strategies to the people of state. Phoolka repeated that AAP will not let the government shy away from its responsibilities.

Phoolka said that AAP will definitely raise the time bound issues in the present session only as these issues cannot be delayed till the next session. He said that issue of autocratic behavior of private schools is affecting the lakhs of students and their parents so it is the need of the hour to flag the issue immediately.  Another issue of lack of drinking water to the residents due to discontinued electricity to water works in state is to be raised without any delay.Phoolka criticized Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh for burdening the state exchequer by appointing army of OSDs and giving them ministerial ranks. He said that the appointment is the violation of article 164 of constitution that prohibits more than 15% ministerial births in government.AAP leader said that the government will be asked about its plan to wave off the loan of farmers of state. The opposition will also raise the issue of shabby state of drug de-addiction centers and government’s preparation to rehab the drug addicts.AAP leader and MLA from Khara, Kanwar Sandhu raised the issue of SYL and government’s status on it, while MLA from Talwandi Sabo, Prof. Baljinder Kaur asked the government to make necessary arrangements to tackle the problem of stray animals in the state.
