A meeting of the Committee on Petitions of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was held here today under the Chairmanship of MLA, Choudhary Sukhnandan Kumar. The Panel discussed the implementation of recommendations contained in its report for the year 2015-16 in respect of settlement of land case of Raj Kumar Sharma, R/O Miran Sahib, Jammu. Threadbare discussion was held on the written reply of the land case submitted by the Revenue Department.Altaf Ahmed Wani, Rajeev Jasrotia, Jeevan Lal, Yawar Ahmed Mir, Noor Mohammad Sheikh, Gulzar Ahmed Wani and Pawan Kumar Gupta attended the meeting and gave their suggestions in respect of early settlement of the land case.Deputy Secretary and Technical Officer of Revenue department also briefed the Committee about steps taken by the department for the settlement of land case.After threadbare discussion on the settlement of the land case, the Committee decided that the final decision will be given after hearing the concerned department in next meeting. It was also decided that the Committee would call higher authorities of Revenue and Custodian departments in its next meeting.Among others, Special Secretary, Legislative Assembly, M R Singh besides senior officers and officers of Assembly Secretariat were also present in the meeting.
