Urged for re-tendering of Theog-Hatkoti Road

Narinder Bragta, Horticulture Minister along with Shri Naresh Sharma, Project Director met Shri Mesfin W. Jijo, Senior Officer of the World Bank and in-charge of South Asia Region, here today. He requested him to take up the matter regarding construction work of Theog-Hatkoti road on priority basis. He urged him for according permission for re-tendering of the project and accelerate work on the same so as to avoid inconvenience to the people of the area due to bad condition of the road. He said that more than two companies be allowed to allot the work by tendering the same. Referring to his request the World Bank has agreed to terminate the agreement done earlier with Chinese Company. This is the second meeting of the Horticulture Minister with the World Bank Authorities in last ten days. The work on this project was taken in hand during previous Government regime and due to its negligence, the road could not be constructed in time.
