District Development Commissioner Ramesh Kumar today launched the calendar of activities to observe ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’. It is a special campaign started under Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) in the district that will culminate later this month on March 15. ADC Kathua Dr Bahrat Bhushan, ACD Kathua, DPO, Principal GDC Kathua, CEO Kathua, GM DIC and other distinct officers attended the meeting.Under the calendar, a massive cleanliness drive was rolled out.Special programme will also be held on March 08 to commemorate International Women’s Day. As many as 50 women Ex-Panchs and Sarpanchs will be administered Swachhata Shapath (pledge).The programme would also feature calendar of activities honoring Swachhta sipahis under which Safai Karamcharis/sweepers of school, college and other government establishments. While celebrating Laadli Diwas, Bankers are suggested to create awareness regarding Sukanya Samridhi Yojana and Laadli Beti Scheme. Executive Engineer PHE is directed to create awareness for conservation of water as well as the economic usage of drinking water and conservation of water bodies under Swachhta Pakhwada. CMO is further directed for arranging gynecologist visit at Women College and Girls Higher Secondary school for sensitizing girls on hygiene and sanitation.
