Jammu , 24 Feb 2017

The National Students Union of India (NSUI) today lambasted the Jammu & Kashmir State Board of Technical Education (JKSBOTE) by claiming that the boards authorities have framed the ant-“student policies” to save them from embarrassment what they had done in past. Expressing strong resentment over the new sets of policies framed by the authorities of Board, Prakash Singh Dadwal District President NSUI Kishtwar and J&K state SM Coordinator NSUI claimed “The board doesn’t matter how much a student works hard, how much challenger he is, but puts all the possible efforts to frustrate the student and put him in dilemma. The new sets of policies framed by board are flawed, there is no option of re-evaluation, and have also abolished the Bi-annual examination, from onwards students who have backlog have to wait for a year to clear it. Disallowing a student to check his answer script is the violation of fundamental of transparency.”

Dadwal added that the technical board has done numerous wrong evaluations, the extent of wrong evaluation can be judged by the sacrifice of 17 year old engineering student Muhammad Adnan Hilal of Nowgam, who ends his life on 18th June 2015 by wrongly declaring him fail and after re-evaluation, he had actually passed. The recent history of the board is tainted with numerous cases and the same drew strong reaction from various quarters. In order to save it from embarrassments board have done malicious changes in the new set of policies by putting student’s side at bay.Majid Hussain Student of Government Polytechnic Kishtwar told Prakash Singh Dadwal “I had attempted all the questions and was expecting for very good marks but when the result comes out, my result was tagged as UFM (Unfair Means) in Digital Electronics of 5th semester without any cheating or mass copying evidence. When I approached the board to enquire on what basis the result declared as UFM, the board authorities gives me a shocking as well as illogical reply of matching paper with others.  Thereafter, the students put the issue in front of Er. Mahmood Ahmed Khan Secretary J&KSBOTE but he paid no heed and rudely replied that all the concerned papers have been cancelled, you should fill up the re-examination form without considering the wastage of incredible time as well as future. Thereafter, I applied for review but till date none have been displayed to me even the exam date for the same paper is 28th feb.

In nutshell, we are constantly in harness without any fault. Board doesn’t learn from the sacrifice of Adnan, and want to scarify more lives of students.”Anil Kumar Student leader from Udhampur claimed that the allegation of mass copying on Majid Hussain is baseless. Board has no right to decide the criteria of paper which is done through mass copying or hard work on hit and trail bases within the board during evaluation. Anil questioned. “if he had done the paper through mass copying, what the staff of technical department was doing, are they doing sun bath?.”Dadwal warned to stop playing with the career of students and demanded to revoke the anti-student policies as well as to fairly display the result of Majid Hussain and his colleagues who suffers without fault. Otherwise, ready to face agitation throughout each and every Polytechnic college. Prakash Singh Dadwal was accompanied by Amit Rana Student Leader from Bhaderwah, Anil Kumar Student leader from Udhampur and Muhammad Saddam Khan from Jammu.
