Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after forming government in Punjab would probe the Police-Politician-criminal nexus in Nabha jail break in the light of new facts that police had prior intimation of jail break conspiracy and allowed the gangsters to flee unchallenged. In a statement issued here Mann said that AAP had already expressed apprehensions of political patronage to the gangsters who escaped from Nabha jail in a pre-planned plot. He said that interrogation of key accused Gurpreet Singh Sekhon had revealed that gangsters remained active after their escape from jail. He said that police was under political pressure for not arresting the accused. “The police has taken swift action in this case only after influence of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal was neutralized”, he added.

Mann said that police had registered a FIR against Ramanjit Singh alias Romi a Singapore based criminal who was also arrested and kept in Nabha jail. He said that Romi might be brought to jail to facilitate his meeting with gangsters and alter allowed to skip to Singapore while on bail.  He stated that same Romi had remote-controlled the jail; break episode from Singapore and police remained clueless. He said that it was serious matter and jail break was not possible without involvement of high ups in the state government.Mann said that Sukhbir Badal and Bikram Singh Majithia had patronized the criminal gangs and allowed them to operate with impunity. The criminal gangs were part of the mafia run by Badal family, he alleged. He further said that law and order had taken a dip in the state and people were forced to live under constant threat. He assured that people of Punjab would get a peaceful atmosphere free of criminals under AAP government.
