Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, today chaired a meeting and held threadbare discussions on effective implementation of DigiDhan programme in the district.Senior district officers, Officials of various banks and telecommunication companies, and other concerned attended the meeting.The DC said that DigiDhan initiative can be made a huge success at gross root level only by equipping citizens, merchants, vendors, students etc with adequate knowledge of mobile wallets apps on their mobile phones and providing technical know-how of carrying out digital transactions.He directed the bank officials to organize awareness camps in the district to educate masses about digital and cashless transactions. He also emphasized upon the bankers to ensure the linking of Aadhars with bank accounts so that Aadhar Enabled Payment System can be operationalized.Officials of telecommunication companies were exhorted to strengthen their infrastructure in the district and provide high speed internet facilities to the users as it is the cornerstone for successful implementation of DigiDhan initiative.
