District development Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, today chaired a meeting to review the convergence plan of Rural Development Department.ADDC Mohammad Younis Malik, SEs of R&B and PHE, Xens of I&FC, PDD, and PMGSY, ACD, CEO, DFOs, DSWO, ARTO, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Floriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, DD Sericulture and Fisheries, DYSSO, BDOs and other district officers attended the meeting.The meeting was informed that under self-employment component of convergence plan, 60 cowsheds, 10 poultry farms and 17 fishery ponds shall be made functional during February 2017. The identified beneficiaries have been trained and basic infrastructure has been constructed by RSETI, concerned Departments and RDD respectively.
The DDC was briefed that under convergence schema, there is a provision of intra and inter-departmental convergence and RDD should focus on dovetailing the intra-departmental schemes for better results.Dr. Shah said that the process of convergence needs to be bolstered and scope of the convergence explored and tapped positively.He directed the officers to identify works in all the blocks and submit a list of works within a week’s time so that they can be taken up at an earliest and new convergence plan for the next financial year could be formulated well in advance.Officials of R&B, I&FC, Forest, Youth Services and Sports, Sericulture, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Education departments were directed to come up with a list of works that can be executed under the convergence plan so that the resources can be utilised properly whereby the Departments shall contribute financially and provide the requisite technical support.
