Taking umbrage of the poor attendance of the invited officers, Governor N.N. Vohra has noted with deep regret that a large number of the invited senior officers did not attend the Republic Day Celebration “At Home”. It was noted that all those who were absent did not even care to convey their inability to attend, if there was any such justification. Raj Bhavan Spokesperson disclosed that the Governor has desired that the Chief Minister may be apprised about the aforesaid matter and has stressed that if the State has to achieve its goals all government employees need to be visibly disciplined particularly the senior echelons of the State.

The Spokesperson said that the Governor’s Secretariat had extended invitations to senior officers upto the level of Special Secretary to Government and Heads of Departments stationed at Jammu to attend Republic Day Celebrations “At Home” at 4.00 P.M. on 26th January, 2017.It is relevant to recall that the State Government had issued circular instructions on 10-01-2017 to all Departments to impress upon all officers/ officials of the State Government and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) stationed at Jammu to attend the Republic Day Celebrations 2017 as a part of their official duty. The order also stated that failure to attend the function will be construed as dereliction of the duty and disobedience of the Government instructions.
