Taking serious note on circulation of a “Fake letter” in the social media, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today lodged a strong complaint with Election Commission of India seeking recommendation to DGP Punjab for identifying the accused and registration of a criminal case against the persons, who have forged the letter to circulate it on the social media. The “forged letter” in circulation is highly malicious and fictitious and may be handiwork of the opposition parties to mislead the innocent voters of Punjab, AAP said. In his complaint to the Election Commission, Convener of Human Rights Cell of AAP, Advocate Navkiran Singh stated that through media circulation a letter written by In-Charge of AAP’s affairs in Punjab Sanjay Singh to National Convener of the party, Arvind Kejriwal gas come to the notice of party, which has been found to be a forged letter on verification. “We request you to refer the matter to DGP Punjab to get the matter investigated and to get a case registered under the relevant provisions of Indian Penal Code (IPC) for offence of forgery etc”, Navkiran Singh stated in his complaint to the Chief Election Commissioner. “Since the letter has been forged in order to jeopardize free and fair elections, urgent action is required in this regard”, AAP stated in its complaint.
