 Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today gave in principle approval to grant the status of Sub-tehsil to Sanour town in Patiala district.  A decision to this effect was taken by Mr. Badal during a meeting with the incharge of Assembly constituency Sanour Mr. Tajinderpal Singh Sandhu at Chief Minister’s Residence in Chandigarh this evening. Responding to the demands raised by Mr. Sandhu, the Chief Minister asked the Financial Commissioner Revenue to complete the requisite formalities for declaring Sanour as Sub-tehsil at the earliest.  Mr. Badal also asked the Principal Secretary Technical Education to set up skill development center at Sanour to impart training to the youth to enable them to get suitably employed.  Likewise, he also directed the Principal Secretary School Education to start vocational training courses in the 10+2 school in Sanour assembly constituency to impart vocational education to the students so that they could be gainfully as well as self-employed.   He also asked the Secretary Mandi Board to examine the case for the pavement of mandis at Devigarh, Bhunheri and Balvera besides the strengthening and repair of link roads in this constituency on the priority. He also sanctioned Rs. 1.37 crore for the patch work/repair of link roads. Mr. Badal also asked the Director Local Government to immediately start construction work of circular road (phirni) in Sanour and sanctioned Rs. 1 crore for it.  To save the people from the fury of flash floods caused by river Ghaggar, Mr. Badal asked the Chief Engineer Drainage to get all the drains de-silted with in the constituency so as to prevent the substantial loss cause to the life and property of the people.   Mr. Badal also asked the Principal Secretary Health & Family Welfare to get all the dilapidated buildings of health sub centers repaired in the constituency on the top priority besides providing adequate staff in these centers. He also asked the Deputy Commissioner Patiala to immediately initiate the process to include the villages of Sanour constituency upto Bahadurgarh within the jurisdiction of Municipal Corporation Patiala with the prior concent of the concerned village Panchayat to ensure their overall development. Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting included Financial Commissioner Revenue Mr. NS Kang, Principal Secretary Technical Education & Industrial Training Mr. SS Channy, Principal Secretary Health & Family Welfare Ms. Vinni Mahajan, Director Technical Education Mr. B.Purshartha, Director-cum-Secretary Industries Mr. Vikas Partap, Deputy Commissioner Patiala Mr. GK Singh, Mrs Anoopinder Kaur Sandhu and OSD to Chief Minister Mr. Sandeep Hans.
