Vice Chairperson, J&K State Advisory Board for Welfare and Development of Schedule Castes, Bushan Lal Dogra today convened an introductory meeting with newly elected Board members.While chairing the meeting, the VC stressed for uplift and proper development of weaker sections of the society with focus on under privileged segments of the society.The meeting had detailed deliberation on various including implementation of reservation rules in ReT and ReZ, free coaching to SC students for competitive examination, reservation of plots/shops in industrial estate and JDA allotments, constitution of SC Advisory Board by the act of State Legislature and granting it permanent status and opening of Anganwadi Centres in SC areas, construction of SC bhawan in Jammu and Srinagar, restoration of reservation in promotion of reserved categories, amendment in the criteria for the grant of pre-matric and post matric scholarships, funds for development works, roster point must be considered for finalizing seniority and reservation in government undertaking, PSU/private sector.Members of the Board gave their suggestions on various issues and apprised the VC of the problems being faced by their community.Bhushan Lal assured the members that the he will make all efforts to redress their problems.Among others who attended the meeting included members of the Board from various districts besides staff of the Board.
