A delegation of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) led by its State Secretary Ms. Varsha Jandial, called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.The delegation presented a Memorandum to the Governor to direct all concerned authorities to take initiatives for raising the standard of education system in the State by improving the quality of teaching; introducing new courses; filling up of vacancies in the educational institutions; establishment of full fledged University in Ladakh; reviving the Human Genetic Research cum Counselling Centre; reducing the fee for re-evaluation process; introducing digitalisation to improve transparency; providing concession for students for travel by air within the State; and punishing those responsible for various corrupt practices.The delegation also voiced their concern over illegal settlement of refugees from Bangladesh in Jammu.The Governor advised the delegation, most of whom are students, to devote themselves to their studies and work with the student and teachers community for raising the standards of teaching and research.
