Vice-Chairman & Director General, Jammu & Kashmir Institute of Management & Public Administration and Rural Development (IMPA&RD), J&K Arun Kumar was accorded a warm farewell by Chief Secretary, B R Sharma, at a dinner hosted at his residence, last evening.Arun Kumar while addressing the gathering said that the support lent to him during all his assignments in the state is praiseworthy and exemplary. He wished bright future and happiness for all.Chief Secretary while congratulating the Mr Kumar on his successful career said that Mr Kumar has had a very positive influence over the functioning of all the departments he has been associated with, be it education, energy (both conventional and renewable), environment, rural and urban development, food and fertilizer distribution, consumer goods marketing, anti-poverty programmes in both rural and urban areas, pilgrim tourism, and even disaster relief operations at altitudes exceeding 5000 meters above mean sea level in Ladakh.An officer belonging to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) of 1979 batch, in his almost 37 years stint with Government of India as well as Government of Jammu and Kashmir, Mr Kumar has served at many distinguished positions including Financial Commissioner (Revenue), Senior Advisor-Policy ASSOCHAM, Chairman Special Tribunal, Principal Secretary Information & Science & Technology Department, Principle Secretary to Governor to mention a few.
