District Development Commissioner Kathua, Ramesh Kumar today convened a Public Grievance Redressal Camp at Bani to take stock of the problems of the people.A large number of people hailing from Bani and its adjacent areas participated in the camp and put forth their grievances related to power and water supply, road connectivity, sanitation, opening of fruit mandi,  setting up of new  Police posts in far off places  and enhancement in the scale of kerosene and ration. The villagers also demanded jobs for locals in SEWA-II hydel power project of National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC).

Responding to the demands projected by the people DDC said that to streamline the process  of ration and Kerosene distribution, 25 new ration  depots will be opened in Bani and also informed that a fruit mandi will soon be established in Bani to facilitate the farmers. He said that the unelectrified hamlets will be electrified under DDUGVY and the liability of MGNREGS will be cleared depending on the availability of funds. 

DDC also informed that to ensure cent percent enrollments under Aadhar, camps will be set up all the remote areas.The DDC stressed the need of public partaking in promoting  Bani as an important tourist destination. He said that Tourist Reception Centre will soon be established at Bani to facilitate the tourists and to boost spiritual tourism, road connectivity to all the holy shrines of the area will be taken up on priority basis.  DDC also assured the people that the matter of providing jobs to the locals will be taken up with NHPC authorities.During his tour of the area, the DDC inspected various ongoing developmental works being executed by PWD, PMGSY, RDD and other departments. While inspecting the new building of ITI Bani, the DDC directed the executing agency to maintain the quality and ensure its timely completion.
