DPS World School Zirakpur Near Panchkula celebrated Annual Sports Day amidst a lot of fun and frolic.The eventful day began with an Aero-Modelling Show. The students were shown maneuvers of different aircraft models of India. It was a mesmerizing and an eye-catching performance, with lots of models flying in the air and showering confetti.The Sports program began with the release of balloons and white pigeons by the Principal, Jyoti Nagranee . This was followed by the Oath-taking ceremony. Students performed Yoga asanas to the tuneful chants of shloks. Thereafter, there were some fun races for Grades Pre-nursery, Nursery and Prep. Students also presented a Pom-pom Callisthenic drill, enchanting everyone with their rhythmical movements. There were some more races for the students of Grades I to VII, displaying their vigour and athletic talants. The teachers also got an opportunity to prove their physical fitness by participating in races. The most exciting part of the sports day was the TUG-O-WAR.In the end, the winners were awarded medals and certificates. Jyoti Nagranee while encouraging the students laid emphasis on the need to participate. She said that it is not important to win. It is participation that makes all the difference.
