DPS (Dipsites Pedagogy System) World School, Zirakpur organized Annual Function. The theme of the program was Heal the World. Salman Khurshid Former External Affairs Minister graced the function as Chief Guest and Mrs. Louis Khurshid, the luminaries of DPS World Foundation was Guest of Honour. The program began with the lighting of the Lamp by the Chief Guest, the Guest of Honour and the Chairman Kewal Garg amidst a melodious chanting of shloks and mantras. The Choir, comprising the Students and Teachers, welcomed the gathering with their rhythmical rendition of Shubh Swagatam .Principal of the School Jyoti Nagaranee in her speech urged the assemblage of how a seedling was nurtured to grow up as a beautiful plant and is still being nurtured.Louise Khurshid, Chairperson ,DPS World Foundation said at the moment that children need to be exposed to and participate in interactive activities and scenarios that will harness their curiosity and motivate and inspire them to investigate the world around them.
Later, Students performed Vandana Dance to evoke the Goddess to bring peace and happiness in the world. Toddlers stirred the stage with their musical presentation displaying the Earth as the Garden of Eden. Grades I to III rocked, dancing to the tune of We could be heroes. In the form of a Mime and Tandav dance by Teachers and Students presented on the stage as if the Satan could not bear to see this beautiful and unique creation, man’s mind was diseased with greed, hatred, jealousy, desire for power, leading to destruction of this amazing world. Later, through dance it was shown that there is always a silver lining behind every dark cloud. Soon man awakened to a new knowledge, the knowledge of peace, forgiveness and harmony with nature. Further, Students dancing to the soul stirring number ‘Mujhe dushman ke bacchon ko padhana ha’ captivated everyone.Chief Guest Salman Khurshid while encouraging the efforts of the Staff and the expressed his gratitude to the Principal, the Staff and the Students for all the hard work put in by them successfully lighting the lamp of DPS World School, Zirakpur, and carrying it forward.
