Junior Engineers (PWD-Civil), Batch 2009 Saturday staged protests against the government for ‘failing to promote them since August 2014’.The JEs assembled at Press Enclave here and chanted slogans demanding justice.Carrying a banner that displayed ‘Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir please save our career’, the JE’s said there are 250 posts of Assistant Engineer vacant for the last three years but the government has miserably failed to made promotions in the department since August 2014.Talking to KNS, Owais Ahmad, one of the JEs said, “We are eligible candidates but the government continues to leave 250 posts of Assistant Engineer vacant. The government must not play with our career and must take the steps to promote the JEs.”He questioned that if the posts are vacant then why the government is delaying to promote the eligible candidates. “Despite working with sincerity, the government ignoring JEs and are not promoting us,” he said. The protesting JEs appealed CM Mehbooba Mufti to intervene into the matter and fulfill their demands at the earliest.
