Kashmir based news agency Current News Service (CNS) Thursday completely denied any links with fake Facebook pages, Whatsapp groups and messages circulated through them.“CNS wants to make it clear that it does not operate any official Whatsapp Group. We don’t subscribe to the views and reports filed by those people who operate fake Whatsapp Group using the name of our news agency. Scores of people have been running Whatsapp Groups either using the name CNS or Current News Service. We want interested people to follow and like only our official Facebook account which has a blue ‘tick’ mark indicating authentication from Facebook.”

“As such, we want to inform our esteemed followers to subscribe to posts on our official account only and mark as spam all other fake accounts operating in the name of CNS both on Facebook and Whatsapp.”“CNS reserves the right to file police complaint against such vested interest elements for maligning the credibility of our news agency through baseless and rumor mongering reportage,” CNS’s online editor said adding that a few day’s back some rumour mongers attributed a fake and malicious news report to the agency through their Whatsapp groups.“For authenticity and veracity about any news report fell free to dial our official phone number 0194-2455425.”
