Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Tourism, Horticulture and Floriculture, Priya Sethi today said the Government is keen to improve the education standards by building the capacity of the teachers with modern teaching techniques.This was stated by the Minister during her visit to the Government Higher Secondary School Bhaddu in Billawar today.During her extensive tour of Tehsil Billawar, the minister inspected various schools and took stock of the facilities available in respective schools. Stressing on increasing enrolment in schools, Priya Sethi said the Government is setting up model schools and the same would be equipped with all required human resource and infrastructure.“It is responsibility of the school teachers and administration to work hard for increasing enrollment by associating local educationists and senior members of society so that more and more students get benefit from the improved infrastructure of the Government schools,” she added.

While inspecting facilities in Government Higher Secondary School Sallan, the Minister called upon the staff to ensure that quality education is provided to the students. She said studies and co-curricular activities should be given equal attention for over all personality development of the students. She also inspected the arrangements for mid-day meals and the kitchen of the school. She inspected Science lab and called upon school authorities to properly display the apparatus in the lab and ensure its functioning. She called for regular updation of science lab ledger book, further impressed upon the teaching staff to focus on science subjects. She also directed the school staff to motive students to participate in sports activities. The Minister also visited Government Higher Secondary School Bhaddu and inspected the school classrooms, library, computer laboratory, science laboratories and other sections of the school. She interacted with the students and inquired about the modern education facilities made available to them.While speaking on the occasion she informed that rationalization of schools has been initiated to avail maximum human resource to cater education needs of students besides providing better nurturing atmosphere. She said teacher training is vital for improving results and government has focused attention to make it as result oriented.She also interacted with teachers during Capacity Building Programme organized at Government Higher Secondary School Bhaddu.

During her extensive tour of Billawar, the Minister also visited Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya(KBGV), Bhaddu and inspected facilities being provided in the school. She directed CEO Kathua to make provision of uniform for school students and necessary school renovation. The minister also inspected the under construction building of KGBV Bhaddu and called for its early completion.While interacting with the locals of Bhaddu, the Minister said the Bhaddu Pond shall be upgraded with better tourist amenities to attract tourist. She called upon the Lakhanpur-Sarthal Development Authority (LSDA) to submit the plan so that it can be taken up at relevant forum.The minister also visited ITI Bhaddu and inspected infrastructure and facilities of the institution. She laid thrust for giving exposure of industrial units to the trainees for practical knowledge of their trades.Later, Priya Sethi chaired Annual Day Celebrations of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Dadwada and distributed prizes among meritorious students of the school.Joint Director, Horticulture Tarvinder Singh, SDM Rajesh Basotra, CEO Kathua Balbir Singh, Tehsildar Billawar Vishavjeet Singh,  CHO Kathua, DY CEO accompanied the Minister during the visit.
