Vice Chairman Advisory Board for Development of Kisans, Daljit Singh Chib today visited Kathua and convened a meeting of officers of Agriculture and allied sectors at Mandli.Threadbare discussions were held on preparedness for the successful conduct of one day awareness camp-cum –Kisan Mela which is scheduled to be held on December 13.While addressing the meeting, Vice Chairman asked the officers to organize camps for the benefit of the farmers and spread awareness on soil health, intensive cropping, soil erosion, aforestation and other welfare schemes.He exhorted upon the officers to utilize the funds efficiently provided under various centre and state sponsored schemes.  He stressed on providing benefit of the schemes to every farmer. He also visited Sangher and took stock of arrangements for the scheduled Kisan Mela.He said the state government is aware of the importance of the soil resources and it has started soil health schemes for providing upto date information about the quantity of fertilizers and organic manure only after testing the soil samples of the particular area. He said it is our foremost duty to conserve the precious natural resource.SDM, Rajesh Basotra, Chief Agriculture Officer, K.S. Sambyal, Chief Horticulture Officer, concerned officers besides Kisan Board Members also attended the meeting.
