While questioning the BJP government’s wisdom over calling leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad as “anti-national,” Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) vice president and MLC G N Monga today said it has become the habit of BJP to call anyone “anti-national” who dissects them.“Azad’s statement in the Rajya Sabha on demonetization was well taken throughout the country and was relevant. More than 50 people have died so far because of the ban on currency notes which is horrifying and shocking. Instead of asking Azad to apologize, BJP should apologize the nation for putting crores of people at inconvenience,” he said in a statement issued to KNS.“The BJP should apologize to the 125 crore people of the nation and apologize to the farmers, the laborers, the business men running small scale businesses and the people who don't have enough food stock with them from past one week,” he said.“It has become the habit of BJP that whosoever dissects them, they dub him as anti-national.

Azad sahib’s background shows that there can’t be a bigger nationalist leader than him. Calling him (Azad) anti-national is unfortunate and highly condemnable,” Monga added.Reminding the BJP of the hardships Azad and his family faced during the turmoil the Congress leader said, “Despite hardships he stood up by his conviction which shows that there can’t be a bigger nationalist leader in India than Azad sahib. False accusation against a secular leader like Azad sahib is testament that BJP government is dancing on the tunes of RSS.”Stating that demonetization decision of the BJP government had made the lives of people in the country hell, he said, “The government’s insane policies have created anarchic conditions in the country. Never in the history of the nation has the country suffered like this because of a government announcement.” (KNS)
