Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today approved a comprehensive, broad and advanced Master Plan consisting of 42 projects of Water Supply, Sewerage, Roads and Multi Level Parking at Bathinda for 31 towns at an estimated cost of Rs 1200.98 Crore. In a statement issued here today, Badal reiterated that the state of Punjab would witness a major transformation in the next three years with the overhauling of the civic amenities both in urban and rural areas across the state. He also said that the total urban revamp plan aimed at executing civic projects in a time-bound manner.Giving detailed of the master plan Mr. Badal said that Sewerage treatment plants would be set up in Sangrur, Bassi Pathana, Sanaur, Khanna, Phagwara, Abohar, Majitha, Sirhind, Barnala, Jaiton, Faridkot, Kotkapura, Guru Harsahai, Goniana, Rampuraphul, Mansa, Sardulgarh, Bareta and Talwandi Sabo towns. He also said that the Punjab Government was committed to provide 100% water supply in all 150 towns. The towns to be covered under water supply program included Khanna, Rampura Phul, Maur Mandi, Mansa, Sardulgarh, Bareta, Budhlada and Bhikhi. Two RUBs at Basti Bawa Khel and Chandan Nagar in Jalandhar would also be constructed besides a multi-level car parking at Bathinda.
