Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today on her arrival here visited the shrine of Hazrat Shah Asrar ud Din (RA) and paid her obeisance on the occasion of the annual Urs.On this occasion, she felicitated people of the state in general, and people of Chenab valley region in particular, and hoped such occasions bring back the people their age old practices of harmony, brotherhood and amity.Minister of State for Hajj & Auqaf, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi and Secretary, Tourism, Farooq Ahmad Shah accompanied the Chief Minister.Mehbooba Mufti recalled the contribution of Hazrat Shah Asrar ud Din (RA) in the spiritual and social awakening of the people of the region. “We ought to emulate the teachings of moral values, communal harmony, brotherhood and welfare of masses which were practiced by the late saint during his lifetime,” the Chief Minister said.

The Chief Minister had directed the Kishtwar district administration to ensure availability of essential supplies like electricity, drinking water, ration etc to the residents of the area and devotees during the Urs days without any hassle.The Chief Minister later also visited the shrine of Hazrat Shah Farid-ud-Din Bagdadi (RA) and Hazrat Shah Akhyar-ud-Din (RA) and prayed for peace, prosperity and well being of the state and its people.Earlier, on her arrival at Kishtwar, the Chief Minister was received by Minister of State for Transport, Mr Sunil Kumar Sharma, MLC, Mr Firdous Tak, Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar and other senior Civil and Police officers besides members of civil society.
