DGP K. Rajendra Kumar reviews CCTNS status; Stresses its strict implementation

Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar, today chaired a high level meeting to review status of Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System (CCTNS) and stressed on its further improvement and its strict implementation in the State.The DGP sought report on the status of the project and progress achieved, so far. He said the project has gained much importance in the present times and helps in maintaining a close vigil on the unwanted activities and in tracking offenders.The meeting was informed that out of 323 commissioned sites, 265 sites have been completed and 29 more sites including 4 newly established women police stations have been added in the project.IGP Crime, Muneer Ahmad Khan, informed the meeting that all police stations have been communicated to lodge FIRs through CCTNS. He said 126 police stations are actively feeding data in offline, online mode and 5 lac entries with regard to daily diaries and 20,114 FIRs have been made till September 2016.On the occasion, the Police chief stressed the officers to work together and make the system functional soon. He asked the officers maintaining the project to gear up the technical staff and make all the sites functional on priority to implement the project within the stipulated period.He said there is dire need of sharpening the training skills of officers in crime investigation and detection.The meeting was attended by Special DG (Coordination/Law and Order), Dr. S. P. Vaid, ADGP (Headquarter), V. K. Singh, IGP (Tech), H. K. Lohia, AIG (Welfare), Dr. Haseeb Mughal and other police officers.
