Hinting to give concessions to the students of class 10 and class 12, Chief Minister Mehbooa Mufti Monday said that government will go ahead with the planned examinations. She said that Education Minister Naeem Akthar’s decision will be final on the matter, saying: “His decision will be the decision of government.”She said that the object of government to hold exams on time is to “save precious academic year” of students.According to KNS correspondent, while talking to reporters here, Mehbooba said that students of both classes will be given wider choices.“Government will go ahead with the planned exams to avoid loss of academic time of students. Students will be given some choice in the exams as they have not completed their syllabus due to the turmoil in the Valley. Government will try to give wider choices to students. It will be done so that their precious academic year is saved,” she said.“Prior to exams, we will make arrangements for tuition to the students in government schools and will request government teachers and others to help them,” she added.

She appealed parents and people to help government in restoring normalcy in Kashmir. “I appeal people in general and parents in particular to take care of the future of students, engage them in studies, refrain them from stone pelting and help in restoring normalcy in Kashmir. People of Kashmir are hard working and always want to earn their livelihood with their own hands,” she said.Chief Minster said that the deployment of CRPF troopers in the Valley was a “compulsion” and they will be sent back to the barracks after the situation will get normalized. She said that the paramilitary forces were deployed on roads considering of ‘vandalism by miscreants’ to avoid ransacking of vehicles, which were being attacked by the ‘miscreants’, adding that in one of the case, a girl lost her life at Parimpora. She said that “as soon as the normalcy returns in the Valley, the security forces will be sent back to their barracks”, adding that the deployment of security forces is done due to security apprehensions of the people who want to carry on with normal lives.
