District administration Udhampur has ordered legal action against a Patwari for alleged misuse of his official position and dereliction of duty.Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Angrez Singh Rana who is also the District Vigilance Officer, vide order no. Compt/DVO/126/300 dated- 14-10-2016directed the Station House Officer to lodge an FIR against a Patwari of PH Rathian. The action has been taken against the said Patwari on the complaint lodged by the President NGO Rahi Youth Development Club alleging that  Patwari , PH Londna Rathian   prepared fake records for the issuance of ST certificates in favour of Riaz Ahmed and Sarfaraz Ahmed , both sons of Mohammad Shafi caste Marasi  of Village Londna Rathian, Tehsil and District Udhampur. Both the applicants had also filed affidavits deposing that their caste was Gujjar and also indicated their caste as Gujjar in the application. The order stated that after the perusal of the revenue record, it was found that the Patwari had only annexed the record of those Khatas where the caste of the applicant was shown as Gujjar and didn't enclose the record of those khatas where the caste was recorded as Marasi, which clearly indicated that the Patwari had not only misled Naib Tehsildar and Tehsildar concerned but also favoured and benefitted Riaz Ahmed and Sarfaraz Ahmed in obtaining the ST certificates.Pertinent to mention here that one of the two applicants has also been appointed as the Prosecuting Officer on the basis of the said ST certificate.
