Gurdaspur , 14 Oct 2016

Punjab today added to its long list of achievements when the Revenue & Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia inaugurated 4 K.M. long bridge on river Beas constructed at a cost of 62.50 crore at Dhanoa Pattan connecting Majha with Doaba regions.Addressing a huge gathering on the occasion, the minister said that with the inauguration of the bridge a long pending demand from last 60-65 years of the people of this region has been fulfilled. He also divulged that this bridge would prove beneficial for the people of Gurdaspur and Hoshiarpur districts, especially the farmers of the adjoining areas whose farms were on the both sides of the river Beas. He also revealed that earlier the farmers had to travel long distance to carry sugarcane to the factories but now the distance between Gurdaspur and Hoshiarpur being reduced by 50 K.M. would act as the game changer in terms of development. S. Majithia also said that the Punjab Government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister S. Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister S. Sukhbir Singh Badal has made it an article of faith with them to focus on infrastructural development of the state in all the sectors so as to take the state many notches up on the progress index.

Labeling AAP as Ayash Aadmi Party, S. Majithia said that its leaders are facing trials in corruption, Criminal and women molestation cases. He said that S. Sucha Singh Chhotepur has been thrown out of the party on corruption charges but the AAP Minister, MLA’s and leaders in Delhi despite of facing trials of corruption and women molestation in the courts are still enjoying the patronize of AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal. He further said that despite of proofs of corruption and women molestation provided by their own leaders and workers against the AAP outsiders controlling party in Punjab Kejriwal has taken no action against them. The minister further disclosed that AAP has played with the religious and cultural values of Punjabis and now it is high time that people must teach AAP a lesson for hurting sentiments of Sikhs and Punjabis.Attacking Congress, S. Majithia said that it is a divided house as bitter relations between Bajwa and Amarinder are public knowledge with Captain Amarinder even leveling charges of drug smuggling and relations with the militants on Bajwa. Lambasting congress further, he said that this party is still in ICU due to anti people measures such as imposing electricity bills on farmers, stopping all facilities to the schedule casts, poor and traders. He said that history stands witness to the fact that it was only during the tenure of S. Parkash Singh Badal as Chief Minister that youth of the state was given government jobs whereas congress put a complete ban on recruitments. ‘All welfare schemes for the poor such as Atta Dal, free electricity, Shagun Scheme, Pension Schemes and cheap electricity to the traders have been launched and are being successfully run by the SAD-BJP Government’ added Majithia.

Advising Congress to stop day dreaming about coming into power, S. Majithia said that in 2012 also India Today group conducted survey that gave full majority to Congress but the result was before all to see. He said that it’s the people of Punjab who would make their choices clear by their vote not the surveys.Punjab Technical & Industrial Education Board Chairman Jathedar Sewa Singh Sekhwan addressing the gathering thanked Punjab Chief Minister S. Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister S. Sukhbir Singh Badal for fulfilling long pending demand of the people of the Majha and Doaba region. He said that Punjab Government has given about 195 crore grants for the development of Gurdaspur district and about 95% development projects have been completed and remaining will be completed in next two  months in the district.Others prominent present on the occasion included Jathedar Sewa Singh Sekhwan Chairman Punjab Technical Education Board, Mrs Sukhjit Kaur Shahi MLA, Mr. Lakhbir Singh Lodhinangal Senior Akali Leader, Shri PArdeep Sabharwal Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Jagwinder Singh Grewal SSP, Mr. Jagroop Singh Sekhwan YAD Leader, Mr. Sarbjot Singh Sabhi President YAD Doaba Zone, SGPC Members, YAD Akali Dal leaders other prominent leaders of the area.
