On the 13th consecutive Friday today, the authorities continue to bar people from offering mandatory Friday congregational prayers in the historical Jamia Masjid in Old city here.Residents of Nowhatta said that the authorities continue to impose curfew on the 13th Friday to disallow people from offering congregational prayers in Jamia Masjid.“Strict curfew was imposed by the authorities and were not allowing anyone to move outside their homes,” they said.They said that people living in adjacent to the grand mosque were forced to offer mandatory Friday congregational prayers in small Masjid’s. “It is the 13th consecutive Friday of this uprising when the Muslims were not allowed to offer mandatory prayers in Grand mosque,” they said, adding that barring people to offer prayers in the Masjid’s is direct interference in the religious practice.Witnesses said that large contingent of forces were deployed on roads outside the Jamia Masjid who had erected barricades on roads as well.
