National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana on Wednesday expressed concern on erratic power and drinking water supply in nine Panchayats of Bock Mathwar, saying these essential services need prioritized attention in view of difficulties faced by the people.“A focused and synergized effort is also needed to improving roads, ensuring maintenance and upkeep of utility services besides stepping up development in Nagrota”, Rana, who is also the local MLA, said at the conclusion of an eight hour long Public Grievances Redressal camp held at Kotli in Agore area of Mathwar Block to discuss problems confronted to the people.Representatives of nine Panchayat halqas and officers of various departments were present in the Camp.He said restoration of damaged infrastructure due to monsoon rains calls for a pro-active approach, especially as various utility services and road network have braved the major brunt of torrential rains. He urged the officers to strictly adhere to schedule of power and drinking water supply as unscheduled cuts were causing enormous irritants and inconvenience to the people. He also emphasized the need for making adequate and quality food-grains at the CAPD outlets besides regulated supply of medicines to various health institutions. 

The MLA said that development of Nagrota assumes special significance because of its close proximity to the winter capital and potential to be a vibrant part of fast expanding Greater Jammu. “Though major initiatives have been taken in recent year yet the constituency deserves much more in view of its neglect in the past.Rana hoped that a coordinated effort will help in generating an atmosphere wherein the time bound execution of various developmental projects and programmes becomes possible. In this regard, he complimented the people of the constituency for lending all support to executing agencies in accomplishment of various schemes.Enumerating crucial role of Rural Development, Animal and Sheep Husbandry and departments related to agriculture sector in transformation of the constituency, Mr Rana hoped that a cohesive campaign will be launched to achieve targets in stipulated time-frame. He sought massive outreach of these departments across the constituency so that economic conditions of the people get fillip.During the camp, the opinion leaders of the nine Panchayats raised various issues of local importance and sought plugging of loopholes wherever needed on immediate basis. They particularly referred to highly dilapidated condition of main and interior roads due to heavy downpour and sought their improvement so that agricultural activity during the upcoming harvest does not get hampered.The public representatives also sought renovations of various school building and posting of staff in various dispensaries.The officers gave status of various projects currently being undertaken across the constituency.
