Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Ch Zulfkar Ali today said the rural areas of state are getting focused attention with respect to the development and the coalition government is committed for the equitable development of all regions of the state.He said that the government is working with missionary vision for transforming the developmental scenario of the state and special focus is being paid on the rural and far flung areas of the state which were neglected in the past.“Earlier the criteria for the development was formulated on the basic of vote banks but our government don't believe in this formula and our aim is to develope all the regions and all the people of the state irrespective of their political alliance”, he said.He said that under the visionary guidance of our Chief Minister we are moving ahead towards an era of peace and prosperity. “many mega developmental projects and social welfare schemes have been launched which have started yielding results and people are now getting benefits out of these initiatives”, he said.Applauding the efforts of late Mufti Mohd Sayeed the minister said that peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir was his dream and government is very much committed to fulfil that dream. “it was his visionary approach that state has witnessed tremendous developmental changed during his regime”, he said.

Expressing satisfaction over the achievements of coalition government, the minister said that this state has  never witnessed such huge funding and fast track development  in the past. Citing the example of Darhal constituency the minister said that an amount of rupees 700 crore has been sanctioned  for various developmental works in this constituency during the past 15 months.” Our mission is not to lay foundation stones and attend the inaugural ceremonies but we believe in facilitating the people by the implementation of works on ground”, he said.Under scoring the need for development of far flung areas of the state which were neglected in the past, the minister stressed upon the officers to make equitable use of resources so as to keep these neglected areas at par with the other areas in the pace of development.The Minister was addressing a mammoth gathering in a public grievances redressal camp held at PWD dak  bungalow  kotranka where the people appraised the minister regarding various problems and demands.Giving a patience hearing to the problem of the people  the minister passed necessary instruction to the concerned officers and assured the people to resolve their genuine issue within shortest possible time.

Emphasizing the need for participative planning the minister said that the local people should also be involved in the process of planning so that the targeted population could get benefitted.The Minister directed all the concerned  officers to make frequent visits and organise the awareness camps in the far flung areas so that  the downtrodden rural people could know about the various social welfare schemes and the benefit of these schemes could percolate to the needy masses.Stressing upon the need for completion of  the developmental works within stipulated time period the minister directed the executing agencies to expedite the pace of the working so that the people could get benefit of these  projects well in time.District Development Commissioner Rajouri Shabir Ahmed Bhat,  Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Jammu G.S. Chib Additional District Development Commissioner Rajouri,  Executive Engineers of PWD, PDD, PHE and all other district officers were accompanying the minister during the tour.
