Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Capt Amarinder Singh today welcomed the postdated retirement plans of the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. “Good for you that you will not need to wait for 5 years more to retire as we are going to retire you on March 6 itself after the verdict by the people of Punjab is declared”, Capt Amarinder told Mr Badal.

Referring to Mr Badal’s statement that he was going to retire after the next tenure as the Chief Minister, the PCC President asked him not to take public opinion for granted. “I can understand the wishful thinking of Mr Badal particularly after the massive groundswell in support of Congress duly corroborated by the independent opinion polls which are giving comfortable majority to the Congress”, Capt Amarinder said about Mr Badal’s wishes and dreams while adding, but people of Punjab have already thought and decided otherwise.

“Better come out of Lambi and better think of winning from there before you dream of becoming the Chief Minister for the fifth time”, Capt Amarinder asked Mr Badal, while adding, “you should feel lucky and happy if you win from Lambi before dreaming of becoming the Chief Minister once again”.

Referring to his promises of implementing various commitments in the manifesto in his first cabinet meeting after forming the government, the PCC President reminded him that what he could not do in last five years he was dreaming to do in first meeting, which nevertheless will never take place.
