Raising questions on the acquittal of Drug Lord Jagdish Bhola and Majithia’s close aides Maninder Singh Aulakh and Jagjit Singh Chahal in a case regarding multi-crore drug racket, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today accused Badals for pressurising Punjab Police for weakening the case against Bhola and other Majithia’s close aides to enable their acquittal by Court. Head of the Campaign Committee and AAP MP, Bhagwant Mann demanded an impartial probe in the drug-racket by sitting Judge of High Court and alleged that if Punjab Police would continue its probe into the racket, the accused would be acquitted in all cases pending against them. Accompanying with Faridkot MP, Sadhu Singh, Mann said “How can free & fair probe be expected from Police, which comes under Home Minister Sukhbir Badal, whose brother-in-law Bikram Singh was also named in the case by key accused Jagdish Bhola?” “We have full faith in the judicial system, but Court decides any case on the basis of evidences produced by Police, which directly comes under Sukhbir Badal, (Jija ji of Majithia),” AAP MPs said.

If the probe would have been handed over to CBI at initial stage the fate of case against Bhola and others would have been different, Mann said while accusing PPCC Chief Captain Amarinder Singh for supporting Majithia by rejecting the demand of CBI’s probe against him. Captain owes an explanation why he objected to the CBI probe in drug racket?, Mann quipped. Mann claimed that the key reason of Police’s soft investigation in the drug-racket was to save Bikram Singh Majithia, as the key accused have already named Majithia’s involvement in the drug-racket. Perhaps, it would have been the first time, when an accused, who admitted his involvement and in the drug racket was acquitted by the court, that too due to Police’s failure to submit ample evidences against them, Mann added.
