Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Ramesh Kumar today convened a meeting of revenue officers to review the functioning of Revenue Department at DC office complex, here.The DC took detailed review of the progress made under Public Service Guarantee Act (PSGA), anti-encroachment drives, progress under Right to Information (RTI), Jamabandi preparations in all tehsils and took appraisal of various issues highlighted by the revenue officers.The DC impressed upon the field functionaries to keep strict watch on encroachments and land conversion cases. He also gave tehsil wise eviction targets to Tehsildars and directed them to achieve cent percent targets.He directed Tehsildars, Girdawars and Patwaris to submit self certifying reports that no encroachment on khachrai, common land, state land besides any unauthorized conversions of agricultural land has taken place within their respective jurisdictions and if the reports submitted proves wrong strict action would be taken.

The Deputy Commissioner called to speed up the process of attesting Jamabandi in all respective Patwar Halqas under laid down procedure. He also directed revenue staff to make correct and legible entries in the revenue record.The village wise target for Jamabandi was also allocated by Deputy Commissioner to respective Tehsildars. He said the process of attesting mutation shall be done after proper notification of camps for the information of all concerned.The DC also passed directions to the SDMs and Tehsildars to identify land for major development projects, and also called for expediting the land acquisitions process, disbursement of compensation under PMGSY and other important projects in the district.

He also directed SDMs and Tehsildars to inspect Patwar Halqa’s of their respective areas and display the name and telephone numbers of Patwaris in their offices.Later, the DC discussed Independence Day arrangements with sub-division and tehsil heads and directed the officers to make proper arrangements well in time. He also issued necessary directions to ensure arrangements like security, sanitation, seating, barricading, water and power supply on Independence Day.He also directed revenue officers to take due steps for flood protection and make necessary arrangements on identified flood venerable spots.Among others ADC, Kathua Dr Bharat Bhushan, SDM Basohli, SDM Billawar, SDM Hiranagar, SDM Bani, Tehsildars and other revenue officials were present in the meeting.
