Punjab To Organize Technical Education Summit In February

The Punjab Government would organize a Technical Education & Skill Development Summit-2014 on 8th February at Indoor Sports Complex, Mohali.

Disclosing this here today Madan Mohan Mittal, Technical Education and Industrial Training Minister, Punjab said that Technical Education Department would showcase its quality initiatives in this Summit. The Summit is sponsored by PTU and PUTIA jointly. Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, Chief Minister, Punjab would be the Chief Guest on this occasion.Mittal said that the Summit would aim at exhibiting the potential and achievements of Technical universities and technical Colleges of Punjab and at same time it would attract investment and students of other states. He further said that more than 400 colleges would combine their efforts to make Punjab the educational priority for national and international students. 

He further said that there are many states like North East, Bihar, Jharkhand etc. and many countries like Nepal, Bhutan, and Africa etc. where there are large number of students but less number of Colleges. He added that department of technical education, PTU and PUTIA would work together to get students from other states and countries.He said that representatives of technical educational institutions and prominent personalities from industry sector were the special invitees including Mr. Sunil Munjal from Hero Group, Mr. Kamal Oswal from Oswal Group, Mr. Rajinder Gupta from Trident Group, Kamna Raj from CII and Mr. Dalip Kumar from PHD chamber.Prominent among others who were present in the meeting including Mr. A.R Talwar, Principal Secretary, Technical Education, Punjab, B. Purushartha, Director,technical education, Mr. Rajneesh Arora, VC, PTU, Prof Arun Kumar Grover, VC, PU, Dr. J S Dhaliwal, President, PUTIA, Mr Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor, CU, Mr Manjeet Singh, Chairman, Doaba Group, Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges.
