Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) on Tuesday said that its cadres led hundreds of women’s congregations across Jammu & Kashmir to pay tributes to the martyrs of Kashmir and pledge allegiance to the ongoing resistance moment. The congregations were held as part of the already announced programmme by the resistance leadership wherein the women of Jammu and Kashmir were asked to hold Dua-e-Majlis from Asr to Maghrib prayers for the martyrs of Kashmir and to know the resistance movement in all its perspectives. In a statement issued to KNS, a spokesperson of DeM said that the party had already communicated to its members and representatives to participate and lead these programmes. She said that despite restrictions and hardships, thousands of women participated in these programmes. “In these programmes, the women of JK were made aware about the different perspectives of the Kashmir dispute. They also pledged that they will continue to support the resistance movement until the end of Indian occupation,” she said.Giving details, the spokesperson said that programs were held in all the districts of Kashmir and at many places in the Jammu province. “It is praiseworthy that despite strict restrictions and curfew imposed by the forces, women in large numbers especially from Habbakadal, Soura,Hazratbal, Lalbazar, Khonmouh, Hyderpora and other places of Srinagar city participated in the programmes.""Similar programmes were held across South Kashmir.

A massive congregation led by DeM was held at Eidgah in Tral," she added She said that as many as 50 massive congregations were held in major parts while hundreds of similar programmes were also held in every nook and corner of the JK.The spokesperson while welcoming the massive participation said that the women here are as resilient as the men and will continue their support to the resistance movement at all costs. She said that the main programme was to be held at Jamia Masjid Srinagar, however, the forces imposed strict curfew and barred any movement in the area. The spokesperson also condemned the use of force and teargas shelling by police on the women congregation in Hyderpora. She said that pellets were used in which two women were injured. She said that the present movement will continue and there would be no let up until India accepts the disputed nature of Jammu and Kashmir and shuns the rhetoric that “Kashmir is its integral part.”Meanwhile, the DeM reiterated that the pro-India politicians should repent their sins and should join the ongoing resistance movement. She said that these pro-Indian politicians especially in the areas close to LoC are issuing threatening orders to employees, forcing them to join duties. “These are cheap tactics to weaken the resolve of people but such tactics won't deter anyone from struggling for the pious cause.""We, once again, ask these puppets of India to resign and join the resistance movement, otherwise the time is nearing when such people won't find an inch to live in Kashmir,” she said.
