Terming the poor performance of Congress in the recently concluded Lok Sabha by-polls as the reflection of simmering anger of people against the anti-people policies of Congress led UPA government, Punjab Revenue and Information & Public Relations Minister  Bikram Singh Majithia said that the people’s verdict has shown that Rahul Gandhi’s dream of becoming Prime Minister of the country would never come true. Lashing out at the UPA Government,  Majithia said that the defeat of Uttarkhand Chief Minister’s son at Tehri and a narrow escape of President  Pranab Mukherjee’s son in Jangipur byelection have proved that the days of Congress at centre are numbered adding that the countdown had begun for the next Lok Sabha polls. He said that Congress has lost Tehri seat even when the father of its candidate was the Chief Minister of the state but the defeat of party in the by-poll has proved that it was a writing on the wall that people are fed up from this most corrupt government of the country which has plundered more than 4 lakh 60 thousand crore Rupees through the scams like 2G, CWG, Adarsh society, coalgate and now Vadragate. Majithia further said that the result of these by-polls should not be merely construed as victory or defeat in a by-election but it actually reflects the resentment amongst the voters against the “misrule” of the UPA government. He said that it was a paradoxical situation that Congress led UPA Government, which had came into power on the name of Aam Aadmi, has today broken their backbone by hiking the prices of the essential commodities in an unprecedented manner. Mt Majithia said that the frequent hike in prices of petrol, diesel and other petroleum products along with the cap imposed on LPG had exposed the anti-people stance of the Congress. The Revenue Minister further said that due to the wrong policies of this government the agonies of farmers, traders and the common man had increased a lot but the Union Ministers of this government were living lavish lifestyles by usurping the public money. Making a scathing attack on National General Secretary of Congress Rahul Gandhi, the Revenue Minister said that Rahul must remember that the poor performance of Congress in this by-poll was a clear cut verdict against his immature and arrogant leadership. He said that the verdict of people was not only against the UPA but it was  a clear cut indication that despite of repeated attempts by the sycophant congress leaders the countrymen are not ready to accept an immature leader like Rahul Gandhi as the future PM of the country. Training his guns against the Gandhi family,  Majithia categorically said that wherever Rahul Gandhi has campaigned for Congress candidate the party has been trounced badly on that seat. The Revenue Minister said that it was a clear testimony that well aware of the dubious character of the Gandhi family the people of country do not want that any member of this family should come on the forefront. Asking the Congress leaders to refrain from continuing as mute spectators, Revenue Minister said that the state Congress leaders must raise voice for safeguarding the interests of Punjab and Punjabis. He said that Punjabis were well aware of the atrocities of the Congress with the state due to which they had taught a befitting lesson to the state Congress leadership by ensuring the victory of SAD-BJP alliance for second consecutive term. He said that brave Punjabis could never forget the wounds given by Congress to them and would never tolerate immature leaders like Rahul and his coterie to tarnish the image of their state by giving baseless and irrational statements. Daring the state Congress leadership to raise voice against the step motherly treatment meted out with Punjab,  Majthia said that the day is not far when due to such anti-Punjab policies the state Congress leadership would not even find a single flag bearer of their party. “People of Punjab will wipe out this party which has always conspired to ruin our state” he added.  Predicting a mid term Lok Sabha poll, he said that the disarrayed allies of the UPA would now pull out the support from this anti-people Congress thereby paving way for early Lok Sabha polls. The Revenue Minister also said that the Shiromani Akali Dal SAD)-BJP combine would win all the 13 Lok Sabha seats of the state in coming Parliament elections adding that fed up by the wrong policies of the Congress led UPA government at Centre the countrymen were eager to rout it out from power thereby paving a way for the BJP led NDA, of which SAD was also a constituent, to form the next government.  Majithia called upon the ranks and files of Shiromani Youth Akali Dal to pull up their socks and get ready for giving a final blow to the Congress party by exposing their anti-people policies amongst the people. “The time is ripe when the Congress which has always discriminated with our state can be taught a befitting lesson by ousting it from Punjab forever but for it every worker of Youth Akali Dal has to play a decisive role” he added.
