Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Mr Anil D Sahasrabudhe called on the Chief Minister, Ms Mehbooba Mufti here today. Minister for Education, Mr Naeem Akhtar was also present on the occasion.Mr Sahasrabudhe is currently in Srinagar to oversee the arrangements for the counseling of Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) for the students of Jammu and Kashmir. The counseling for PMSSS began at Amar Singh College Srinagar and Women’s College, Gandhi Nagar Jammu today.

AICTE Chairman expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the State’s Education Department for the smooth conduct of the counseling for PMSSS at the designated centres in Srinagar and Jammu.The Chief Minister while hailing the initiative of AICTE and the Education Department for refurbishing PMSSS and making it more student-friendly, urged the students to take maximum benefit of the scheme.She also acclaimed the intellect of state’s students for having made it to some of the prestigious colleges in the country including St Stephens and Lady Shriram College under PMSSS.
